Getting a Quote

Do you charge for quotes?

We don’t charge for quotes, they’re free.

Showroom appointments with our Joinery Consultants are also free (available in-person, or by phone or video call).

Do you come out to do an initial measure up?

Quotes and showroom appointments with our Joinery Consultants are free of charge.

We don’t however offer free initial measures. But, there’s no need to worry! This is how we’re set up.

Get started on your quote

We can get started on a quote for you with a few quick details:

  • the items you’re after;
  • approximate required sizes; and
  • quick photos of the opening/existing space.

(and please don’t forget to let us know your contact details!)

Our experienced design and drafting team will then come out to site to do a check measure once your job progresses, prior to manufacturing. We also prepare shop drawings, which you can review and sign off on, before we make your joinery.

Can you help me with the different types of doors and windows?

Absolutely. Our Joinery Consultants can take you through all the different types of timber doors and windows and help you choose between them.

Each door and window type has their own pros and cons and there can be a few different things to consider, depending on how you want to use them.

Our experienced team can offer guidance around the different features and applications to help you choose the type of door or window best suited to your project.

At the end of the day, we custom make our doors and windows and specialise in bespoke designs. So, everything can be tailored to you.

Our Chermside Showroom

You can also meet with us here in our Showroom, which features a wide range of our custom-made timber doors and windows on display. We have bi-fold doors, sliding doors, entry doors and a barn door on display, in a variety of different timber species and glazing options. We also have many different types of windows, from casements through to a gas strut awning window, on display.

Products and Services

Do you have doors and windows in stock?

No, we custom make our timber doors and windows to your bespoke designs and sizes, and don’t have standard items ‘in stock’.

All of our custom-made joinery is skilfully hand-crafted to ensure it’s consistently of the highest quality.

We make our timber doors and windows here in our on-site joinery factory in Chermside, Queensland, Australia. Our talented, experienced timber joiners and wood machinists are masters at what they do and uphold the premium quality product we’re renowned for.

We’re passionate about what we do and why we do it. We’d love to tell you more. Learn more about what we do here.

Do you offer delivery and installation?

Absolutely. We can:

  • Supply only;
  • Deliver; or
  • Deliver and Install (local areas only),

your timber doors and windows.

For projects outside our local area, we can arrange for transport of our joinery. However, you’ll need to work with a local tradesperson  for any on-site work (e.g. site measuring and installation), as we can only offer those on-site services ourselves within our local area (Brisbane and South East Queensland).

Do you do repair type work?

We’re more set up for manufacturing, rather than on-site repair type work.

But, we’ll do our best to help. We can always refer you to one of our experienced carpenter subcontractors who might be able to better assist.

Here’s an example:

You’re lucky enough to have a beautiful Queenslander home and some of the older timber windows are beginning to show their age. You’re deciding between either:

  • (a)  repairing parts of the windows; or
  • (b)  replacing the windows with new ones.

We’re more set up to help you with (b). We can replace them with quality timber windows, custom-made to match the existing.

In fact, we specialise in heritage style work. View some of our heritage style projects here.

Do you do kitchen cabinetry?

No, we custom make timber doors and windows. We’re not set up for kitchen cabinetry work.

We’d love to tell you more. Learn more about what we do here.

Do you do one-off glass sales?

No, we’re not able to offer one-off / walk-in glass sales or glass cutting.

Our factory glazing crew work within our production team, focusing on glazing our timber doors and windows.

We’d love to tell you more. Learn more about what we do here.

What timber species do you use?

We believe in making beautiful, natural products with longevity, in your home for life.

We favour and recommend quality, select grade hardwoods with durability fit for our Australian climate.

Most commonly, we use New Guinea Rosewood, Blackbutt or Accoya for our joinery and New Guinea Rosewood, Merbau or Amoora for our frames.

However, we can also source most species of timber available in Australia, including Tasmanian Oak, Spotted Gum, Silky Oak, Western Red Cedar and American Oak.

We also custom make internal doors, which sometimes utilise pine. But apart from that, we generally don’t use softer, paint grade timbers such as meranti or pine for external applications.

Do your doors and windows come pre-sealed / pre-primed?

We can apply a pre-seal (i.e. clear coat) or pre-prime (i.e. white paint primer) to your timber doors and windows for you, prior to delivery. This is a first coat only. You (or your painter) will need to apply the top coats i.e. stain / paint the joinery.

It’s an optional extra, but most of our clients choose to have us do this for them.

A key benefit of us applying the pre-seal or pre-prime for you in our factory is we’re able to do that before we do our glazing, ensuring a comprehensive application.

If you choose to instead have us deliver your joinery as raw finish, you’ll need to seal or prime it within 24 hours of delivery. Timber is a natural product, so this is really important.

We offer a full service and often allow for additional services, such as pre-priming or pre-sealing, that others might not. So, we recommend making sure any comparison quotes you have are true comparisons. If you’re unsure, you can always call your Joinery Consultant to discuss your quote.

Can I have frosted/obscured/energy efficient glass in my doors/windows?

Yes. We can source most types of frosted and obscured glass available in Australia.

However, not all frosted and obscured glass is available as toughened glass.

Our Joinery Consultants can also review your Energy Efficient Report (if you have one) when preparing your quote.

Can you also supply security screens and fly screens?

Yes. We can supply quality insect or security screens for your timber doors and windows.

Retractable Fly Screens

We pride ourselves on using the best hardware and screens in the industry. We’re proud to be a leading supplier of Centor‘s innovative retractable screens and blinds. We can source other retractable fly screen options as well.

We can also arrange for the retractable screens to be fitted to our doors and windows. Depending on the application and what brand you choose, we can even integrate your screens in our timber frames (or if not possible, arrange for the screens to be retrofit externally).

Timber-framed Security Screens

We can also custom make timber-framed security screen panels for some types of doors and windows (e.g. sliding doors and windows and entry doors).

Examples

Take a look at our Screens Gallery, to see photos of recent projects where we’ve supplied retractable fly screens or made timber-framed security screens for our clients.

Our Brisbane Showroom (at 594 Rode Rd, Chermside QLD 4032) also features a range of screen options, including the Centor ES2, S2, S4 and S5 screens (with different material options) and our custom timber-framed security screens.

To book an appointment with one of our Joinery Consultants and talk about screen options for your project, email us at info@allkind.com.au.

Can I have insect or security screens on my louvre window?

Absolutely! We can custom make a timber frame for your louvre window to accommodate an insect or security screen.

We allow for a timber trim to the outside of the window frame, which the screens fits on to. The screen finishes flush with the outside of the frame (this is called a reveal fitting, which we recommend due to its visual appeal).
